Garden City Middle School — Garden City, NY

6th Graders will view “The Dark Side of the Sun” a video produced by Mollie’s Fund that discusses the importance of developing good sun prevention habits. Dr. Ted Daly reviews with the students lessons learned in the film and suggests how they can have a sun-safe summer. Dr. John Clarke, “The Physician Musician “ will perform his rap song “Stop Melanoma!” Students are invited to sing the chorus, reminding all of the importance of melanoma prevention. Parents will receive a letter from the school nurse asking them to support the sun-safe behaviors taught in the program. All participants take a home a hat and download of Dr. Clarke’s “Stop Melanoma!” from Mollie’s Fund.
